I am only 20 this year but i am an owner of 10 spectacles. I was prescribed with my first spectacles when i was 7 and is those very kuku type.
Why so early? Mum told me that im not born with perfect eyesight. My first time degree was maybe 50? But i never wear that kuku spec out because i think that i dont need it. It was until Primary 3, my eyesight start to fail as day goes by and then i went to the optician again to get a new spec.
I remembered i make the new spec when i was Primary 4 but i only wear it when i need it so i will just hang it on my clothes. So one day, my mum brought me out for movie and i hang the spec on my clothes. After the movie, i realised my spec is missing! Asked the cinema staff and they helped us to check but cannot find. =( My mum nag until cannot you know because the spec kinda ex as it cost like $200+ i think. So after the incident, i went to make a new pair.
From then on, i went for eye checkup every year. Every year, my degree increase and increase. At one point of time, i was diagnosed to have astigmatism. So because of astig, my new spec get more expensive as the lenses are different. Mum started to scold me. Haha.
I got my first pair of contact lens when i was in Secondary 1 because of dance. Wearing spec and dance is quite troublesome so i decided to make contact lens. Also my contact lens is more expensive because of astig too. Lol. Secondary school period was the time when my astig keep going higher. Optician told my mum i might become blind one day if it keeps going up.
Now my degree is moving up slowly or maybe not moving anymore while my astig i think is stable already makes me feel better. I dont need to go prescribe new spec every year and just buy contact lens will do.
I wanna go lasik next time. I need money. I wanna put braces too. I need more money.
So here are the 7 pairs of specs i have 'collected' over the years. Inclusive of my first kuku specs, i think im going to donate all of them so more people can benefit from it. =D
